¶ Download Links or Attachments?
Sometimes you need to send files with your campaign email. There are 2 ways to do this: via download links or email attachments.
Sending email attachments will consume tens or hundreds of times more network resources than regular emails. For example, an email with attachments is more than 5,000 KB (5 MB), while one without is only 50 KB. That’s why most email marketing platforms don’t allow it. Instead, they suggest you upload the files online and link them as download links in your email content. However, your files will become publicly downloadable, as anyone getting the links can download them.
If you want your recipients to access the files directly and privately, sending them as attachments is simpler. You can send attachments by subscribing to the SalesCatalysts attachment sending services.
¶ Adding Attachments
To add attachments, click the [Attachment] button in the lower part of the content editing page when creating an email campaign.
There are 2 types of attachments you can send with SalesCatalysts:
- Normal attachments
- Personalized PDF
¶ Normal Attachments
Every recipient receives the same files when you send normal attachments. For example, you can send registration forms, electronic publications, or PDF flyers with this function.
The followings are the file types you can attach:

The maximum total file size of all normal attachments in a campaign email is 10 MB.
You must first subscribe to an attachment data plan to send normal attachments. It charges based on the total size of all attachments to all recipients. For example:
- Attach 2 PDF files, one is 1 MB, and another is 500 KB, a total of 1.5 MB
- Send to 2,000 recipients
- Total attachment data needed = 1.5 MB × 2,000 = 3,000 MB

¶ Personalized PDF
Every recipient receives PDF files with their personal details when you send personalized PDF attachments. First, you need to upload your source Microsoft Word files with merge tags. Then, our system will generate PDF files with the personalized data you provided and attach them to individual emails. You can use this function to send personalized certificates, electronics bills, receipts, account statements, etc.
The followings are the file types you can upload for conversion:

You must first subscribe to a personalized PDF plan to send personalized PDF attachments. It charges based on the total number of pages of your source Microsoft Word files and the number of recipients. For example:
- Attach 2 .doc files, one with 2 pages, and another with 1 page, a total of 3 pages
- Send to 2,000 recipients
- Total personalized PDF pages needed = 3 pages × 2,000 = 6,000 pages
