Have you ever been aware of your campaign email size? Look at them now, you will be surprised at how small they are (~50 KB), regardless of how many photos you put into a message. They are small because all images are not embedded but indeed hyperlinked in the emails. The image files will be loaded on the fly from content hosting servers when emails are opened, a common practice adopted by bulk email service providers on sending campaign emails.
To ease marketers on hosting the images and other campaign materials, SalesCatalysts provides content hosting storage to every user. It eliminates your own network’s burden and speeds up access to email content, so both your IT administrator and readers feel happy.
No matter you are using the free or standard edition of SalesCatalysts Email Marketing, you are provided with online content hosting storage, with the following differences:

In the free edition, the content hosting folder is configured for shared access by all free users. The manual file removal function is disabled, and no user can delete any other's files. The uploaded files will only be removed by the system automatically 14 days after their upload. This period is generally long enough for campaign execution as people mostly read their emails within the first few days of arrival.
If you upgrade your account to the standard edition, your content hosting access will also be upgraded to a dedicated folder. Any files you uploaded before the upgrade will remain in the shared folder and be deleted according to the 14-day schedule. They will NOT be copied nor moved into the new dedicated folder automatically. For any files that you want accessible permanently, be sure to upload them again in the new folder and update any drafting content with the new content path. Note that content paths or hyperlinks of sent emails are not changeable.

Once you upload any files to the content hosting storage, they become publicly accessible regardless of whether your email campaign has been sent or not. Never upload personal data files such as contact records into the content hosting storage.
