To ensure that the dedicated IP service you subscribed delivers its value, SalesCatalysts will take the following procedures before using it for large-scale sending:
A good sender reputation is a necessity at all times. We will review your sender reputation; it needs to reach a certain level before you can use the service, or otherwise we may reject your subscription. After the service starts, we will continue to monitor it to ensure the service is used properly.
Using a dedicated IP address aims to bring stable and reliable email delivery. However, if you have not completed basic domain authentication of your sender domain under the deliverability enhancement settings, we can not finish its technical setup. Although you have paid the relevant monthly fee, your emails can only be sent through our shared IP network until you complete all required DNS record modifications.
The setup of reverse DNS of the IP address means that we will set a mail server hostname that matches your sender domain name on the assigned IP address. For example, mta.yourdomain.com
will resolve to your dedicated IP address, and your dedicated IP address will also be reversely resolved to mta.yourdomain.com
. This reverse setting is crucial for sender identity authentication and reputation improvement. This kind of DNS-related settings usually takes several days to propagate across the Internet.
After completing the above procedures, you can not send at full speed yet. You have to skillfully and gradually improve the IP address's reputation and sending capacity. Email platforms, network security systems, and email blacklists monitor you from many aspects, such as sender domain authentication settings, website validity, domain name history, email content, email quantity, email traffic stability, sending speed, email address validity, unsubscribes, complaints, reader interaction, etc., to decide whether and how fast to receive your emails in the next minute. When you have not established a reputable delivery history yet, they will treat your emails with the highest caution with a conservative approach of a stricter standard to new senders. If they receive negative responses from your emails, you will be easily regarded as a spammer, blacklisted and blocked without warning nor explanation. There is no shortcut to improving your reputation overnight, you need to be patient to build their trust in you.
To build your reputation, we will have an IP address warmup process. Starting from the first email sent from this IP address, we will implement intelligent controls behind the scenes, such as controlling and gradually increasing the send volume per hour, per day. The mailing list will also be strategically selected to send on this IP address. Lists that exceed the sending capacity and are of relatively low quality will be temporarily diverted to our other shared IP addresses.
Email platforms, network security systems, and email blacklists may lower your reputation rating at any time. For example, when you do not send for a while, or when spam complaints increase, your reputation rating will be downgraded, so as the effective sending capacity of your IP address. To minimize the impact on your marketing activities, we may also dynamically overflow emails to our other shared IP addresses. In general, your dedicated IP address will always be the primary target delivery channel, but we may adjust the final send path stratgegically upon considerations of various factors such as IP warming status, sending volume, email content, etc. The subscription of this service does not guarantee that all your emails must be sent through it.
In addition, we also adopt adaptive delivery techniques and adjust delivery according to the receiving characteristics and feedback of individual email platforms, instead of brute-force delivery. This IP warming process usually lasts several weeks, gradually builds a positive, mature, and stable reputation, and reaches the sending capacity you require.
Although IP warming has clear goals and intelligent techniques, you must note that since factors such as email content, list quality, and sending practices are beyond our control, we do not guarantee this service will necessarily achieve any specific results for you. Good sending practice is still essentially the key to achieving a good reputation.
For users who send spam, sending over dedicated IP addresses will not help improve your email acceptance; on the contrary, a large ratio of low-quality emails will accelerate the chance of being blocked. In addition, since the dedicated IP address is exclusive for use, any blocking will generally only result from the user's sending behavior, so we will not provide IP address replacement services for any blocking. Moreover, with the IP address being our asset, blocking will also affect our reputation, and you may also violate our terms of use. Any services you order may be suspended or terminated anytime without refund nor compensation.
Dedicated IP address service will be charged from the day of ordering (not the completion day of the IP warming process) on a monthly basis, with no availability of daily service fee calculation.
